What if solving the world's biggest challenges started with something too small to see?
From disease outbreaks and food security to climate change and ecosystem health, many of the challenges shaping our future begin in the hidden world of cells, genes, microbes, and molecules. Explore how discoveries in the life sciences are helping us understand these invisible systems and imagine new solutions that could improve human health, strengthen communities, and protect our planet.
What you'll do:
- Investigate the hidden biological systems that shape our health, food, and environment.
- Explore how cells, genes, microbes, and ecosystems influence life on Earth.
- Tackle real-world challenges facing medicine, agriculture, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with fellow innovators to imagine and develop new solutions.
- Discover how life scientists use curiosity and creativity to improve lives and protect our planet.
Who can attend?
Students in their last two years of high school (juniors and seniors) with an interest in biology, genetics, agriculture, biotechnology, medicine, health, neuroscience, bioengineering, sustainability, and other areas of the life sciences.

Make it Play: Design a City, Play the Story

What if your next favorite game was one you designed yourself?
Create worlds to explore, challenges to conquer, and stories players will remember. Through this two-day workshop, you'll work in teams to transform ideas into playable adventures- filled with tokens, totems, surprises, and mysteries, then test, play, and experience created games. By the end of the experience, every team will have a game ready to play. You’ll also gain an understanding of the value of interdisciplinary techniques when solving design challenges.
What you'll do:
- Explore how spaces, contexts, cultures, stories, and visuals work together to shape play and design.
- Invent an original game concept complete with goals, rules, challenges, and ways to win.
- Build worlds to explore and create all the elements that bring your game to life.
- Prototype, test, and refine your ideas through hands-on making and play.
- Experience games created by other teams and discover how different ideas become unforgettable adventures.
Who can attend?
High school students in their final two years with interests in game design, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, architecture, art, illustration, urban planning, and other design fields. Conversational-level (intermediate) English skills are required for participation.

Step into the role of scientist, engineer, and city planner as you explore what it takes to power artificial intelligence—and decide whether your community should approve the next generation of AI infrastructure.
What you'll do:
- Uncover the hidden infrastructure behind every AI search, image, and chatbot response.
- Experiment with the physics of energy, heat, and cooling through hands-on STEM challenges.
- Design solutions for powering and cooling a next-generation AI data center.
- Navigate real-world tradeoffs between technology, communities, and the environment.
- Defend your team's vision for the future of AI infrastructure before a mock city government and council.
Who can attend?
High school students in 12th or 11th grade with interest in physics, astronomy, earth science, environmental science, biology, and chemistry. A conversational (intermediate) level of English is required for participation. No programming skills required.
